When Kai becomes so entranced by his digital devices that he can no longer see the real world around him, he attracts the attention of something ancient and hungry lurking in the depths of the city's cables—the Screen-Eater. This digital demon feeds on the life force of those who lose themselves in endless scrolling, gaming, and streaming, trapping their souls in an infinite maze of content. As Kai disappears deeper into his screens, only his grandmother's memories of the old ways can save him from becoming just another empty husk, forever consuming but never truly living.
