After years of fertility struggles, Jess's family finally gets the baby they've been dreaming of through adoption. Six-month-old Elliot seems perfect - too perfect. With his mesmerizing violet eyes and unnaturally calm demeanor, he's everything they could have hoped for. But when Elliot begins mimicking voices with impossible accuracy and their family dog starts cowering in terror, Jess realizes their miracle baby might be something far more sinister.

As strange whispers echo from the nursery and shadows begin moving on their own, Jess discovers the horrifying truth about the Hollow Ones - ancient creatures that prey on families desperate for love.
